Andy Powell

After serving 7 years in the Army as an aircraft engineer and physical training instructor, Andy transitioned from machines to people by embarking on a 4-year Physiotherapy degree at the University of Liverpool. He has previously worked alongside military exercise rehabilitation instructors, physiotherapists and a Chiropractor in Australia. Andy currently works alongside the medical team at Liverpool FC as an Emergency Sports Assistant on match days and has a keen interest in musculoskeletal injuries, rehabilitation and performance.

Andy has a strong professional interest in performance testing, and is leading the Merseyside Health service in the application of force plate and dynamometry testing which is being used for rehabilitation and sport performance assessment.

Having completed multiple marathons, endurance events, CrossFit and Hyrox competitions, Andy is well-placed to treat injuries from all walks of life, including pre and post event. He takes a holistic approach to treatment by combining massage with gym-based rehabilitation and education, with qualifications in Sports Massage Therapy and Personal Training. In his spare time, you’ll find Andy walking his golden retriever or in the gym training for his next event.
